Next Wednesday, we will celebrate Independence Day (“the Fourth of July”) to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence which ultimately led to the formation of our great nation. In the midst of the fireworks and festivities, Southland Data Processing would like to remind you that since the Independence Day is also a banking holiday, you may need to do some additional payroll prep this week before you bunker down for next week’s barbecue.
Both Southland Data Processing and The Federal Reserve will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Because of this, transfers will be pushed back a day for check dates on or after the holiday. Direct deposits will also not be live for payrolls with check dates on July 4th.
We recommend you always check the Transfers section on your Payroll Summary report, which has the exact transfer amounts and dates. You can also contact your Customer Service Rep who can provide you with this information.
In order for your employees to receive their pay by July 4th, you should:
- Change your check date to Tuesday, July 3rd
- Send your payroll by 2:00 PM PDT on Friday, June 29th
For other check dates, you may need to send your payroll a day earlier than usual, as described below:
- Checks dated Thursday, July 5th – send payroll by 2:00 PM PDT on Monday, July 2nd
- Checks dated Friday, July 6th – send payroll by 2:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, July 3rd
As always, our team is here to help you with any issues with your payroll or check dates. Here at SDP, we pick up the phone, so don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions.
Wishing you and yours a fun and relaxing Fourth of July!
